25 DECEMBER 2021

It just may be that all the holiday company has mostly, or completely, left your place after a big Christmas day, and you’re settling down with a big tankard of nog to reflect on things. If that’s going to be what’s happening with you at 7 p.m. Tulsa time on December 25 — or even if your circumstances are different — maybe the special Christmas edition of SWING ON THIS will provide just the music you need.

As per tradition, I’ve mixed some great Western-swing tunes (“Santa’s on His Way” by Bob Wills and His Texas Playboys; “Swingin’ Home for Christmas” by the Tractors, and “Jingle Bell Boogie” from Asleep at the Wheel, to name a few) with Yuletide recordings from Tulsa acts both past and present. This time around, expect some of the latter from Cindy Cain, Luigi Balletto, and the Round Up Boys, as well as Roy Clark and Leon McAuliffe.

It’s all coming your way for one full hour on Christmas, so I invite you to tune in radio station KWGS, 89.5 FM, in the T-Town listening area, or publicradiotulsa.org for live-streaming anywhere in the known universe.

Traditionally, this time of year is when we’re encouraged to count our blessings. And when I count mine, as the old saying goes, I count you twice. Happy holidays and merry Christmas from the Wooley household and SWING ON THIS.
