27 NOVEMBER 2021

If you feel like a little post-Thanksgiving boogie music, you’ll find just what you’re craving in Saturday’s installment of SWING ON THIS, where I’ve got not one, not two, but three mighty fine boogie recordings from Jim Boyd and His Men of the West, Ida Red, and Leon McAuliff (during that early ‘60s period when he dropped the “e” from his last name) and His Cimarron Boys.

Plus, an all-time favorite, circa 1938, from Roy Newman and His Boys, with vocalist Earl Brown explaining the reason he can’t dance, and Jana Jae’s version of a Bob Wills hit that features a peerless lineup of Oklahoma western-swing stars.

That and much more on our last broadcast of November 2021. So please tune in to radio station KWGS, 89.5 FM, at 7 p.m. Saturday, or pick us up live-streaming everywhere at publicradiotulsa.org. And thanks for listening!
