13 NOVEMBER 2021

This week on SWING ON THIS, Tin Pan Alley songwriters of the 1920s supply us with three famous tunes, all done up as western-swing numbers. Bob Wills and His Texas Playboys check in with their ‘40s radio transcription of the timeless number from Fats Waller and Andy Razaf, “Honeysuckle Rose”; the great steel-guitarist Bobby Koefer joins with boogie-woogie piano king Floyd Domino for a contemporary reading of “Whispering”; and Shelby Eicher, from his brand-new disc, gives “I’ll See You in My Dreams” a good going-over.

Plus, Saturday’s show includes a couple of movie themes from the ‘60s, both rendered in unexpected ways.

That and a whole lot more comes your way at 7 p.m. Saturday evening, over radio station KWGS, 89.5. If you don’t happen to live in the Tulsa listening area, or if you just love technology, SWING ON THIS live-streams everywhere in the known universe at publicradiotulsa.org. However you choose to join us, we’ll be glad to have you along!
