I’ll tell you what: I’m more than ready for another live broadcast of SWING ON THIS from the legendary home of Bob Wills and His Texas Playboys, the Cain’s Ballroom in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Hope you are, too, because that’s just what’ll be coming your way this Saturday at 7 p.m., as I once again join bandleader Jason Roberts and Bob Wills’ Texas Playboys for a big show at the Carnegie Hall of western swing.
The last one we did — on March 7, 2020 — was also the last full-capacity show the Cain’s had for well over a year. So, given the circumstances, we hope Bob wouldn’t mind our celebrating his March 6 birthday a few months late.
Texas Playboys business manager Brett Bingham and I will also have some copies of our new book about the Cain’s, TWENTIETH-CENTURY HONKY-TONK, for sale, in either the autographed or extremely rare un-autographed versions.
